Fortuity Calling is a social enterprise designed to create hundreds of living wage jobs in the Franklinton area of Columbus, Ohio. Franklinton, Ohio encompasses 2.2 square miles with 11,000 residents and is the oldest (settled in 1797) and poorest neighborhood in the 1.8 million Central Ohio MMA. Franklinton sits 'in the shadow of the prosperity of downtown Columbus, yet has some of the weakest statistics for household income, single-parent households, education, teen pregnancy, crime, etc.

These tools include robust job skills training and access to a number of support services including well and sick child daycare, healthcare services, continuing education, and access to fresh and healthy food (groceries, take-home meals, and a full cafeteria).

Franklinton Rising is a 501c3 nonprofit focused on housing and job creation in Franklinton, Ohio - the oldest and poorest neighborhood in the 1.8m Columbus MMA.
Franklinton Rising helps neighborhood youth to successfully navigate the difficult transition from at-risk youth into productive, contributing adult and community member. Franklinton Rising acquires abandoned, boarded-up homes for renovation and conducts classroom training and hands-on on-the-job training that teach our students life and work skills in high-demand construction trades.
